Two suspects in Decatur, who were in possession of meth, were hiding the drugs in a McDonald’s bag. Police stopped Jerald Anderson and Nicholas Hammel for failing to signal a turn on East Prairie Avenue.
Officers noticed the two going through a McDonald’s bag while being pulled over. When asked about the bag, the two said they had just left the restaurant.
Officers then called a K-9 to search the vehicle and upon a positive alert from the dog, police searched the fast food bag. Inside, they found a digital scale and a glass vial that contained a substance that tested positive for methamphetamine.
Each of the two men had previous meth-related convictions.
