According to the Macon County Sheriff’s Office, illegal solicitors are in the Decatur and Macon County area. They are saying they are collecting donations on behalf of the Fraternal Order of Police. The Macon County Fraternal Order of Police does not solicit door-to-door or over the phone.
If you live in the area and someone claims to represent the Fraternal Order of Police, please, do not give them money and get in contact with local police. Anyone using the Fraternal Order of Police logo must have permission and be registered through the National Grand Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police.
The illegal and unauthorized use of the name and associated insignia is taken very seriously.
