Deven Barger, the 24-year-old who was charged in the July 8th murder of Samantha Cushing and her unborn child, entered not guilty pleas yesterday. He also chose to waive a preliminary hearing in the wake of his trial.
According to investigators, after shooting Cushing he then fled the scene and proceeded to lead police on a chase. During the chase, it was discovered he had a young child in the car.
