The GOP of Illinois has remained silent on a controversial tweet sent out by President Trump. The tweet referenced four “progressive Democrat Congresswomen” that they should go back to and fix their “crime infested” countries they come from.
All four of the women Trump is believed to have referenced are American citizens. Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib are all American-born citizens and Minnesota representative Ilhan Omar moved from Somalia to the United States as a child refugee. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has spoken out against the comments and said Trump’s plan is about “making America white again.”
Some Democrats are viewing this tweet as ground to rehash the idea of impeachment against President Trump.
