A new law, which would take effect July 1st, will now require that any retailer or distributor with E-cigarettes must register with the state. The governor is expecting the bill on his desk within a few days.
Illinois will then begin to regulate and tax electronic cigarettes just like other tobacco products. Retails that currently hold a valid cigarette and tobacco products retailer license will not have to re-register.
