Two Illinois lawmakers have spoken out about the rising tensions between the U.S. and Iran. Republican Representative Darin LaHood released a statement Tuesday in support of President Trump’s move to place financial sanctions against the Middle Eastern country. Democratic Senator Tammy Duckworth spoke on the Senate floor and criticized Trump’s approach. Senator Duckworth said that troops shouldn’t be used as chess pieces in a manufactured crisis.
