Corporate board legislation will not include minority mandate

Legislation that was aimed at diversifying corporate boards in Illinois will not include a mandate for minority representation.  The bill would have required Illinois companies to have at least one woman, an African-American and a Latino on their boards.  The latest version only mandates that publicly-traded companies report the demographics of their boards on their websites.
