A bill that would require citizens to submit fingerprints to receive a FOID card is about to be on Governor Pritzker’s desk. The bill recently passed both chambers and would also increase the cost of a FOID card to 20 dollars instead of $10.
Decatur State Representative Dan Caulkins shared his thoughts on the bill: “Today was just a continuation of the Chicago politicians’ assault on our constitutional rights and values,” he said. “Tax hikes, abortion on-demand and now more limitations on our Second Amendment rights. Law-abiding citizens should not have to submit to fingerprinting, doubled FOID card fees and bureaucratic red tape to exercise their right to keep and bear arms.”
