Illinois lawmakers have several outstanding issues to address while their Spring session comes to a close.
They are scheduled to adjourn General Assembly Friday, until the Fall. Legislators must make a budget for the fiscal year, which begins July 1st.
Other issues on the docket include: the state construction plan, sports gambling and a proposal to legalize recreational marijuana.
Lawmakers expect to set an income-tax rate to go along with a constitutional amendment question on changing the state’s flat-tax rate structure into a graduated structure that is based on income. This will go to vote late 2020.
