Governor Pritzker will soon unveil a 6-year $41.5 billion plan to repair and improve Illinois roads, bridges, public schools and universities that would need approximately $1.8 billion in new taxes as well as increases to current taxes. The plan, known as “Rebuild Illinois”, would be the largest scale infrastructure improvement program in a decade.
The plan would mean higher costs for ride sharing and a gas tax increase, as well as increased taxes for cable and streaming services.
