Illinois could be the next state to allow people on food stamps to use their benefits at restaurants.  The Illinois Senate is considering the plan.  Lawmakers say allowing people to use their benefits at restaurants would make sure homeless people, or at least people who don’t want to cook, have options.  But there are some worries that eating out could burn through food stamps quickly.  The Illinois House has already approved the idea.
