Annexation is likely in the outskirts of Decatur

Annexation is likely in the outskirts of Decatur.  The City Council discussed the topic during their study session last night and decided to move forward.  The idea is to annex more than 400 properties to offset the loss of taxes from people moving out of the city.  The buildings are already completely surrounded by city limits.  The council is expected to vote on the first annexation agreement at their first meeting in May.
