Mother Accused of Murder Pleads Not Guilty

Twanka Davis appeared in Macon County Circuit Court Wednesday the 27th 2019, and put in a plea of not guilty. Twanka is accused of first degree murder and endangering the life or health of a child. Twanka’s daughter, 2 year old Ta’naja Barnes was found unresponsive wrapped in a soiled urine smelling blanket,when ems arrived. Medical Personnel attempted to take her temperature and their equipment did not register her temp, due to the extreme cold she was left in her room with , as Twanka reportedly removed the girls heater because she was cold herself. Twanka’s live in boyfriend appears in court Friday March 1st.
