Governor Pritzker’s pick for Illinois schools superintendent

Governor Pritzker’s pick for Illinois schools superintendent would be a first.  The governor yesterday named Carmen Ayala as acting Superintendent.  If approved, Ayala would be the first woman of color to lead ILlinois’ State Board of Education.  Ayala spent 30 years as a teacher and administrator in the Chicago suburbs.
