Scot Wrighton has been announced as Decatur’s new City Manager. The position is not a new one for him though. Wrighton has been City Manager for a number of years in other city’s. To name a few Kirksville Missouri, Mt. Zion and Streator Illinois currently. Wrighton has also spent time overseas for a private company in India for a little over five years. Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe said, “ Scot has not pursued the normal city manager career route.. but his rich diversity of professional experiences and his change-agent skills seemed like the exact leadership style the city council was searching for in a new city manager for Decatur.” The City council exclaimed they are anxious for his start.
