The Illinois Department of Corrections is making arrangements to move a transgender inmate from a men’s prison to a woman’s prison. This type of transfer will be the first of its kind in the state of Illinois. The inmates lawyers have been trying for years to make the transfer happen and even filled a lawsuit to get the ball rolling. At this time there is no word on when the inmate will be transferred but we do know the inmate will be going to the woman’s prison in Lincoln Illinois.
