The Association of Fund Raising Professionals has named Cromwell Radio one of East
Central Illinois’ Top Three Philanthropic Corporations. At its luncheon in Champaign
Friday AFP recognized Cromwell for community efforts in the region. The East Central
Chapter of AFP covers from the Indiana border west through Danville, Champaign, and Decatur
And to the south Effingham and Mattoon. Cromwell operates 14 radio stations in
Decatur, Mattoon, Effingham and Vandalia, as well 17 others in Kentucky and Tennessee.
Cromwell Mattoon Manager Luci Englum joined with Promotions Manager Rene Fonner
in saying “we try to build up, not tear down, and to make a difference where we are”.
“For us, it is a big deal to be recognized by AFP. While 93% of Americans listen to local
radio every week, most don’t realize it and take our community services for granted.
We are very appreciative to AFP for ts recognition”.
In Mattoon Cromwell has helped raise nearly $1.4 million for St. Judes and has for several
years coordinated with non-profit organizations as they help 6,000+ families during the
Holidays. There are many community involvements almost every week where we have
Radio stations…Decatur, Mattoon, Vandalia, Effingham, Owensboro, Ky, and Nashville, Tn.”,
Said Englum.
The Association of Fund Raising Professionals is a national organization with more than
200 chapters and 31,000 individual members. AFP’s luncheon honored a number
of other East Central Illinois individuals and organizations for their philanthropic efforts
