Craig Kimbrel gave up two runs in the ninth, but held on for the save as Boston won the best-of-five matchup 3-1. The Red Sox will play the defending champion Houston Astros in the ALCS.

(Undated) — There are just four MLB teams left in the playoffs. The Dodgers will battle the Brewers in the National League Championship Series starting Friday in Milwaukee. The Red Sox clash with the Astros in the ALCS starting Saturday in Boston. The Astros are trying to become the first repeat champion since the Yankees won three in a row from 1998 to 2000.
>>Chargers Owner Spanos Dead At 95
(Carson, CA) — The Los Angeles Chargers are mourning the death of owner Alex Spanos. The team announced his passing yesterday at the age of 95. Spanos purchased the San Diego Chargers in 1984 and his son Dean now serves as controlling owner. The elder Spanos is survived by four children and 15 grandchildren. The Chargers moved to LA early last year.

(Jacksonville, FL) — The Jacksonville Jaguars are bringing in former Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles. They have signed the 31-year-old to a one-year contract after injuries to their top three running backs. Leonard Fournette, T.J. Yeldon and Corey Grant are all banged up. Charles has five one-thousand yard rushing seasons to his credit, most recently in 2014.

(Las Vegas, NV) — The LeBron-led Lakers clash with the defending champion Warriors tonight in Las Vegas. Lonzo Ball will make his preseason debut for LA after dealing with a knee injury. This will be the first of two exhibition matchups between the squads this week. They also play Friday in San Jose. Their first regular season matchup is not until Christmas Day.
