(Springfield, IL) — The top man in the Illinois Senate says he’s willing to wait until next year, or until the next governor, to get a statewide Tobacco 21 law. Senate President John Cullerton told reporters in Springfield Tuesday that he is confident that Illinois will soon raise the age to buy cigarettes or other tobacco products to 21. Governor Rauner recently vetoed the Tobacco 21 law that lawmakers sent him. Cullerton says Rauner made a mistake.
