(Lincoln, IL) — Two downstate communities are each losing a grocery store. Kroger Thursday announced that it is closing stores in Lincoln and Decatur. Kroger spokesman Eric Halvorson says both stores will close at the end of the month. About 75 workers at the Lincoln store and another 95 workers at the Decatur store that was located in the Fairview Plaza will lose their jobs and will Kroger human resources will work on the transition with them to find opportunities at other Decatur stores.
