(Bloomington, IL) — A uniformed deputy will now keep an eye on the people coming in and out of the courthouse in Bloomington. McLean County Sheriff Jon Sandage yesterday said he is adding a deputy to the courthouse security team that already screens about two thousand people a day. The upgrade comes after a convicted sex offender smuggled a knife into a courtroom last week and stabbed himself after jurors returned their verdict against him.
