(Chicago, IL) — Clay Buchholz pitched one-run ball into the seventh inning in his return from the disabled list as the Diamondbacks beat the Cubs 5-1 at Wrigley Field. Jason Heyward hit a solo homer in the sixth for the Cubs, who have been outscored 12-2 in the first two games of this four-game series. Kyle Hendricks allowed three runs in five frames to absorb the loss. The teams play again this afternoon.

The Yankees have acquired former All-Star closer Zach Britton from the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for minor league pitchers Dillon Tate, Cody Carroll and Josh Rogers. Tate is ranked as the Yankees’ ninth-best prospect by MLB Pipeline, while Carroll is ranked 15th. Britton has a 3.45 ERA in 16 games this season.

(Irvine, CA) — The Rams are locking up running back Todd Gurley. Los Angeles announced they have reached a four-year contract extension with Gurley that will keep him in LA through the 2023 season. Financial terms were not released, but multiple outlets report the deal is worth 60-million-dollars with 45-million guaranteed. The 23-year-old Gurley rushed for 1,305 yards and 13 touchdowns last season.
