(Bronx, NY) — Rookie Ronald Acuna [[ ah-COON-ya ]] Jr. hit a two-run homer in the top of the 11th inning to lift the Braves to a 5-3 win over the Yankees in New York. Acuna also had an RBI double and Johan Camargo homered for Atlanta. Jesse Biddle got the win and A.J. Minter his fourth save as the Braves won their fourth in-a-row.

(Washington, DC) — The Red Sox got to Max Scherzer [[ SURE-zur ]] early and held on to beat the Nationals 4-3 in DC. Pitcher Rick Porcello’s [[ poor-SELL-oh’s ]] three-run double did the damage in the second inning. He also earned his 10th win on the mound. Mookie Betts’ solo homer in the seventh proved to be the difference.

(Oakland, CA) — The NBA champion Warriors are looking to remain on top of the mountain. ESPN reports they’ve agreed to a one-year, 5.3-million-dollar contract with center DeMarcus Cousins. The 27-year-old averaged 25.2 points and 12.9 rebounds in 48 games with New Orleans last season before a season-ending Achilles’ injury.
