(Lincoln, IL) — Many parts of Central Illinois saw high winds, heavy rain and tree and power lines down, as strong severe storms made its way across the state and through Central Illinois on Sunday afternoon. The National Weather Service in Lincoln had reports of power lines down in Harristown, peak wind gusts of 53 mph in Decatur and the most damage was reported in Champaign where a tornado was reported and survey crew was being sent out on Monday to assess the damage. More rain and thunderstorms are predicted for the next couple days.
