(Decatur, IL) — New Hope Animal Shelter will host a 50/50 drawing at Macon Speedway’s Midwest Street Stock Championship Event – the Dean Garland Classic on Saturday, May 19. Gates for the event open at 5 p.m. The proceeds from the drawing will help New Hope Animal Shelter fund its vision to build a rescue hub in Macon County.
According to Matthew Schmahl, President of the New Hope Board, “This rescue hub will be the center of our rescue and foster program and will allow New Hope to efficiently and cost-effectively carry out our mission and core values. The hub will serve as a small-scale foster based animal rescue with adequate space for intake, vet care, meet and greet, and temporary shelter.”
New Hope Animal Shelter is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that was established in 2016 after identifying the need for an additional no-kill animal rescue and shelter in the Macon County area.
