(Decatur, IL) — The Macon County Emergency Management Agency will be at the local Walgreens store at 4994 E US Route 36 (southwest corner of Rte. 121 and Rte. 36 intersection) programming NOAA Weather Radios from 3:30 to 6:30 pm, Tuesday, April 17, 2018.
The Macon County Emergency Management Agency will be providing this service for free in an effort to continue severe weather preparedness for county residents. NOAA weather radios will be available for purchase at Walgreens. The Agency is also encouraging residents who already have radios but would like them programmed, to bring them in.
The Agency cannot stress enough the importance of an NOAA weather radio. The county outdoor warning sirens are designed to notify people outside and weather radios are designed to notify people of pending severe weather inside buildings or at night. The Macon County Emergency Management Agency is committed to continuing our efforts on programming NOAA weather radios with the opportunity to do so at other locations in the future.
