(Springfield, IL) — The top Democrat in the Illinois Senate wants Governor Bruce Rauner to go along with the gun control push at the statehouse. Senate President John Cullerton penned an op-ed for “The State Journal-Register” over the weekend that urges the governor to sign the gun control plans that will land on his desk this spring. Cullerton said the governor can start with a law to require a three-day’ cooling off period’ for rifle purchases, then sign other plans that would raise the age to buy a rile or allow family members to call the police and have someone’s rifle taken away.
