(Springfield, IL) — Illinois public health managers are once again warning people not to smoke synthetic marijuana. The Department of Public Health yesterday issued a warning after six people have been treated since March 10th for severe bleeding after smoking synthetic marijuana, spice or K2. IDPH Director Nirav Shah says synthetic marijuana is marketed as a safe alternative to real marijuana, but in reality, it poses a number of health risks.
