(Davenport, IA) — Not so fast. The National Weather Service yesterday said it is tweaking its spring flood forecast for the Mississippi River and surrounding states. Meteorologist Jessica Brooks yesterday said that the recent rain in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, and Kentucky is changing the short term flood outlook. Longer term, Brooks said the report’s estimate that this will be a lighter flood season on the Mississippi River still stands.
