(Carbondale, IL) — There are two investigations into Southern Illinois University’s chancellor and his role in hiring decisions at the school. SIU President Randy Dunn on Friday said the state is looking into whether Chancellor Carlo Montemagno’s agreement to get jobs for his daughter and her husband at the school violated ethics rules. Dunn also said that the school is looking into whether Montemagno meddled in other hiring decisions. Dunn said that he knew about the jobs for Montemagno’s family members, and thinks that the school is in the clear, legally.
