(La Jolla, CA) — Tiger Woods is back on the golf course again. Woods shot an even-par 72 Thursday at Torrey Pines in the Farmers Insurance Open. This is his first official PGA Tournament in a year. Woods trails leader Tony Finau [[ FEE-now ]] by seven strokes, but does have a shot at making the cut. The 42-year-old is tied for 84th place in a tournament that has the top 70 players move on to the final two days.

(Miami, FL) — The Miami Marlins are making another big trade as they continue to rebuild under new ownership. The Marlins have traded outfielder Christian Yelich [[ YELL-itch ]] to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for four prospects, including outfielders Lewis Brinson and Monte Harrison. Meanwhile, the Brewers have also reportedly signed outfielder Lorenzo Cain to a five-year, 80-million-dollar deal.

(St. Louis, MO) — Carter Hutton denied 36 shots in net as the Blues beat the Avalanche 3-1 at Scottrade Center. Paul Stastny, Brayden Schenn and Alexander Steen lit the lamp for St. Louis, which has won four of its last five games. The Blues are now off for the All-Star break. They return to the ice on Tuesday at home against the Canadiens.

(Detroit, MI) — Alex DeBrincat scored a hat trick to lead the Blackhawks to a 5-1 win over the Red Wings in Detroit. Chicago took a 3-0 lead in the first nine minutes of the first period and eventually went up 4-0. Anton Forsberg stopped 23 shots for the Blackhawks, who snapped a four-game losing streak. Chicago is off for the All-Star beak.
