(St. Louis, MO) — Jaden Schwartz’s seventh goal of the season early in the second period snapped a 1-all tie and the Blues went on to beat the Flames 5-2 at Scottrade Center. Alexander Steen, Alex Pietrangelo, Paul Stastny and Joel Edmundson also lit the lamp for the Blues, who have won three of their last four games. They skate tomorrow at Carolina.

(Charlotte, NC) — Panthers quarterback Cam Newton isn’t feeling it with the media these days. Newton walked out of his press conference on Wednesday after a question regarding the Panthers’ inability to regularly create big plays. Carolina is 4-and-3 on the season. They play at the 2-and-4 Buccaneers on Sunday.

(Lake Forest, IL) — The Bears are getting some help at the wide receiver position. According to ESPN, Chicago sent a 2018 seventh-round pick to the Chargers for wideout Dontrelle Inman. Inman has only played in four games this season. He had 58 catches for 810 yards and four TDs last season.

(Pittsburgh, PA) — The Steelers are benching wide receiver Martavis Bryant. The disgruntled Bryant said head coach Mike Tomlin told him he won’t play Sunday night in Detroit. Bryant has been upset about his role in the offense and has made his feelings known through social media. He reportedly requested a trade earlier this month but has since denied the rumors.

(Undated) — Quarterback Colin Kaepernick is expected to be invited to the next meeting between NFL owners and players about social issues. It’s unclear if he will attend next Tuesday in New York. “Kap” was invited to last week’s meeting, but did not take part. He recently filed a grievance against NFL owners, alleging collusion to keep him out of the league over his national anthem protests.
