(Chicago, IL) — The Cubs aren’t going away easy. Chicago avoided a sweep in the National League Championship Series with a 3-2 win over the Dodgers in Game Four at Wrigley Field. Javier Baez hit two solo homers and Willson Contreras also went deep. Jake Arrieta got the win. Los Angeles leads the best of seven series 3-1, with Game Four in Chicago tonight.

(Bronx, NY) — The Yankees are one win away from the World Series. They shut out the Astros 5-0 in Game Five of the American League Championship Series in New York. Masahiro Tanaka threw seven innings for the win. New York has won three in-a-row to take a 3-2 lead in the series. The Yanks are 6-and-0 at home in the playoffs. Game Six is tomorrow back in Houston.

(St. Louis, MO) — The Blues scored the game’s first four goals and cruised to a 5-2 win over the Blackhawks at Scottrade Center. Jaden Schwartz capped a hat trick for St. Louis with an empty-netter in the final minute. Kyle Brodziak and Vladimir Tarasenko also found the back of the net for the Blues. They are back on the road tonight at Colorado.

(Indianapolis, IN) — Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is being shut down after suffering a setback in his rehab from shoulder surgery. Luck will stop throwing and receive a cortisone shot due to soreness in his surgically repaired right shoulder. Luck hasn’t played since the Colts beat the Jaguars on New Year’s Day.

(Oakland, CA) — “Thursday Night Football” features an AFC West showdown in Oakland. The Chiefs hit the road to face the Raiders coming off their first loss of the season. Kansas City fell to 5-and-1 when Pittsburgh topped the Chiefs 19-13 on Sunday. Oakland has lost four in-a-row since a 2-and-0 start.

(Undated) — The NBA season is in full swing following the first full night of action. The Spurs ruined Jimmy Butler’s Minnesota debut with the Timberwolves with a 107-99 victory in San Antonio. The Celtics fell to 0-and-2 with a 108-100 loss to the Bucks in Boston. Carmelo Anthony faces his former team tonight as the Thunder open the season against the Knicks.

(Chicago, IL) — The Bulls are suspending forward Bobby Portis eight games following an altercation with teammate Nikola Mirotic on Tuesday. Mirotic suffered facial fractures and a concussion during a fight at practice. He’s expected to be sidelined four-to-six weeks. The two were battling for the starting power forward spot. Rookie Lauri Markkanen will now get the call.

(Boston, MA) — It sounds like the season is over for Celtics forward Gordon Hayward. He had surgery las night and his agent tells ESPN that the 27-year-old isn’t expected to return to the court this season. They hope for a full recovery down the line. Hayward injured his ankle and tibia in the opening minutes of his Boston debut against the Cavaliers on Tuesday.
