(Rockford, IL) — Prosecutors in Winnebago County hope to have a suspect in the shooting of a local deputy in one of their courtrooms soon. Police officers in Georgia arrested Jordan Spates in an Atlanta suburb on Saturday. Spates is wanted for allegedly shooting a Winnebago County deputy after a traffic stop last month. Spates will likely appear in a Georgia court this week, then be brought back to Illinois after that.
