(Chicago, IL) — Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan is going to court to force Chicago’s mayor to accept federally mandated reforms aimed at breaking bad behavior among the city’s cops. Madigan appeared at a news conference with Mayor Rahm Emanuel yesterday to talk about the lawsuit. Emanuel says he and Madigan are “partners,” and Madigan says her goal is to make sure that Chicago follows up on an Obama-era order to more thoroughly investigate officers accused of civil rights violations.
