(Bloomington, IL) — A central Illinois man could be heading to prison for 50 years for attempted murder. A judge will sentence Darvell Williams in September. A jury yesterday convicted Williams of attempted murder. Bloomington police say he opened fire on a former friend last fall because the man sold or gave away an alligator skin coat. Williams’ lawyers didn’t fight the charges that he shot at his friend. Instead, they said Williams didn’t try to kill the man.
