(Springfield, IL) — There’s another city looking to get-in on Illinois’ proposed gambling expansion. A Springfield developer yesterday floated a pitch for a casino in downtown Springfield. Chris Stone says a casino with 12 hundred slot machines or tables would bring visitors to Illinois’ capital city. The pitch is a long shot, Illinois lawmakers have been trying for years to find enough votes to make long-promised casinos in Rockford and Danville a reality.
