Decatur, IL – The Decatur Celebration organizers announced today the plans and lineup for the 32nd annual street celebration which has a brand new look and titled “It’s Gettin’ Hot In Here” to take place August 4-6.
The event looks to have its biggest line-up of performers this year including; The Jersey Tenors, Stars Go Dim, Here Comes the Mummies, chart-topping Christian band 7eventh Time Down, Iconic Rock Star & Reality TV Superstar Bret Michaels, Country Music Legend Travis Tritt and Hip Hop & Rap Mega Star with Crossover Hits Nelly.
With thousands of people flocking to downtown Decatur for the massive three-day event safety and security is the top priority. This year Decatur Celebration will have a fenced perimeter with designated entry points. All adults must have a “Band Together” wristband to be admitted. The wristbands will cost five dollars for the weekend in advance and eight dollars for the weekend on site and children under the age of 12 are free. Advance sales for wristbands will begin on May 15.
“We are excited about the line-up and potential of this year’s festival, says Decatur Celebration Board President, Kendall Briscoe. “We know that this will launch Decatur Celebration to the next level.”
The Celebration will once again feature three blocks of arts and crafts, carnival rides, the Razzle Dazzle Goodtimes Parade and over 60 unique food items with a whole block designated for the kids.
