(Hartford, CT) — The UConn women’s basketball team is a win away from making more history. The Huskies demolished South Florida 102-37 to tie their own NCAA record with their 90th consecutive win. The Huskies can break the record with a road win over SMU on Saturday.

(Ann Arbor, MI) — A finalist for this year’s Heisman Trophy is taking his game to the next level. Michigan star Jabrill Peppers has announced he will enter the NFL Draft. Peppers is projected by many to be a top-10 pick.

(St. Louis, MO) — The Blues fell behind 3-0 in the first period and never recovered in a 5-3 loss to the Bruins at Scottrade Center. Colton Parayko, Patrik Berglund and Kyle Brodziak had goals for St. Louis, which has traded wins and losses in its last nine games. The Blues play in Los Angeles tomorrow.

(New York, NY) — Forward Vladimir Tarasenko will represent St. Louis at the NHL All-Star Game. He’s the lone Blues player selected for the January 29th game in Los Angeles. Tarasenko ranks fourth in the NHL with 43 points and fifth with 20 goals. It’s his third straight All-Star selection.

(Chicago, IL) — Duncan Keith scored a power-play goal just 38 seconds into overtime to give the Blackhawks a 4-3 win over the Red Wings at the United Center. Brian Campbell, Richard Panik and Tanner Kero also found the back of the net for Chicago, which blew 2-0 and 3-2 leads before pulling out its fourth straight win. The ‘Hawks visit the Capitals on Friday.

(Chicago, IL) — The Blackhawks will be well represented at this year’s All-Star Game. Corey Crawford, Duncan Keith, Jonathan Toews [[ taves ]] and Patrick Kane will all suit up for the Central Division. The All-Star Game takes place January 29th in Los Angeles.

(Washington, DC) — John Wall scored 26 points, including the go-ahead jumper with 5.9 seconds left, as the Wizards beat the Bulls 101-99 at the Verizon Center. Denzel Valentine scored 19 points off the bench to lead the Chicago attack. Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade did not play. The 19-and-20 Bulls battle the Knicks in New York tomorrow.

(Undated) — NASCAR driver Carl Edwards is calling it quits. ESPN reports Edwards is set to announce his retirement from racing during a press conference today. The 37-year-old has 28 wins over his 13-year Cup career.

(Undated) — President Obama has at least one more meeting before leaving office. Multiple reports say the Cubs will visit the White House on Monday. Chicago captured its first World Series title since 1908 last November.
>>Illinois Hosts Michigan Tonight
(Champaign, IL) — Illinois welcomes Michigan to the State Farm Center tonight. The Fighting Illini are coming off a 96-80 loss at 25th-ranked Alabama on Saturday. Illinois has lost two of its last three games and is 11-and-5 overall and 1-and-2 in the Big Ten. The Wolverines have the same record.
