Decatur Assistant City Manager Billy Tyus has announced the departure of the City’s Economic Development Officer.
In a news release, Tyus said that Economic Development Officer Patrick Hoban has announced his resignation, effective January 20, in anticipation of being appointed Economic Development Manager in Tinley Park. Hoban has worked with the Greater Decatur Chamber of Commerce, the Economic Development Corporation for Decatur and Macon County, Workforce Investment Solutions, and other members of Decatur’s economic development team since 2013 to bring millions of dollars to the City in development projects, which include the new Sonic restaurant, the FirsTech redevelopment, the creation of a City-owned Fiber network, and cleanup assistance for Akorn’s recent expansion.
