(Springfield, IL) — If you want to bag a deer next year consider western Illinois. Three western Illinoiscounties are at the top of Illinois’ deer harvest. Adams and Pike counties lead the state, and Hancock County is in the top five. Overall, hunters brought-in fewer deer this year. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources say hunters bagged just over 79-thousand deer in the seven days of shotgun season. That’s down about seven-thousand deer from last year.
