(Springfield, IL) — Once again, state leaders are staying tight-lipped about why the man in charge of cataloging Abraham Lincoln’s papers is on unpaid leave. Daniel Stowell admits he’s been sent home without pay. But he won’t say why. Neither will the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency that oversees the Lincoln Presidential Library where Stowell works. This is Stowell’s second suspension from his 92-thousand dollar a year job. He was last suspended in April.
