DECATUR- 26-year-old Decatur man James Senkiw is being held in jail on a $300,000 bond on four felony charges for allegedly breaking the upper arm bone of a 1-year-old boy.
The injury was likely to have occurred about 5:10 p.m. Oct. 8, when Senkiw picked the boy up from a car seat in his vehicle by grabbing him by his arm and picking him over the seat, Senkiw told police.
Doctors diagnosed the injury as a spiral fracture to his left humerus. Spiral fractures occur when torque, a force of rotation, is applied to the bone.
“Doctors advised this injury is consistent with abuse,
