Coach Chuck Pagano addressed the media yesterday and described the final eight games as a “defining moment” for his team. They may be short handed as well with news that cornerback Vontae Davis and lineman Joe Reitz are both in concussion protocol as preparations for Sunday begin. (Nashville, TN) — Seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Andre Johnson is calling it a career. Johnson has informed the Tennessee Titans he is retiring during his 14th season in the NFL. The 35-year-old spent last season with the Colts before signing with the Titans in the offseason.

(Scottsdale, AZ) — Mets outfield prospect Tim Tebow is day-to-day with a knee injury. He tweaked his right knee sliding into second base as he was thrown out trying to steal in the Arizona Fall League yesterday. Tebow is 5-for-34 for a .147 batting average in 10 Fall League games.

(Brooklyn, NY) — Jimmy Butler scored 22 points as the Bulls blew out the Nets 118-88 in Brooklyn. Nikola Mirotic [[ MEER-oh-titch ]] added 16 points and 10 rebounds off the bench for Chicago. The Bulls are 3-and-0 for the first time since the 1996-97 season. The Bulls visit the Celtics tomorrow.

(Champaign, IL) — Illinois hosts Michigan State this Saturday. The Fighting Illini will be without freshman receiver Dominic Thieman, who will have surgery today for a broken ankle and miss the rest of the season. Illinois is 2-and-6 on the year, including 1-and-4 in the Big Ten. MSU is 2-and-6 and 0-and-5.
