The Maroa-Forysth volleyball team is no where near slowing down their momentum especially with the postseason right around the corner. The Trojans earned their 15th straight victory on the road Tuesday night taking down St. Teresa in straight sets, 25-17, 25-16.
The Bulldogs looked to snap the win streak of Maroa-Forsyth and played tight volleyball through both sets. The Trojans however pulled away late in both sets to move their record to 19-4 on the year. “It’s always great for us to get a win against St. Teresa. Our passing wasn’t all that great overall but we hustled and made the most of our opportunities,” said Maroa-Forsyth head coach Sarah Mason.
Kate Beckenmeyer has emerged throughout the year for the Trjoans and played like it again Tuesday night leading the team with eight kills. “Kate Beckemeyer had another huge night and has become one of our most consistent players. She’s just an athlete who can play any position and play it well,” said Mason. Carly Mason also chipped in with 21 assists on the night for Maroa. Abby Robinson led St. Teresa with seven kills on the night and Lexie Huck finished with eight assists.
Maroa-Forsyth will be back in action this weekend when they compete in the Champaign St. Thomas More Tournament. St. Teresa is now 9-14 on the year and will play tomorrow night in a conference matchup at Shelbyville.
