The Maroa-Forsyth volleyball team made a statement on Tuesday night as they won in straight sets 25-20 and 25-15 on the road against one of the hottest teams in the area going into last night’s matchup. The Trojans took down undefeated Argenta-Oreana, who went into the match with an 8-0 record. Maroa lost their first match of the season but have rebounded with back to back wins and this coming as the biggest one so far and a statement win to boot. Savana Sparks continued her solid play for Maroa as she finished with a team high 13 kills and Carly Mason added a team high 23 assists. Madyson Eller led Argenta with six kills and Haley Williamson added 13 assists. Maroa-Forsyth is now 2-1 on the year and will take on Mt. Zion tomrrow night and Argenta-Oreana is 8-1 on the year and will return to action tomorrow against Springfield Southeast.
