From the National Weather Service in Lincoln: A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect for all of central and southeast Illinois until 9 pm. A line of strong to severe storms is pushing eastward toward Peoria and Springfield, and has a history of producing damaging winds. Additional severe storms have formed near the I-70 corridor in east central Illinois, and these may produce hail up to the size of walnuts, as well as strong winds. The storms all have very intense lightning associated with them as well.
