The Chicago White Sox nipped the Texas Rangers 4-3 in 11 innings. Jose Abreu had the game ending walk-off single in the bottom of the 11th inning for the Sox. Matt Albers got the win in relief for the White Sox.
The Chicago Cubs fell to the Cincinatti Reds 13-5 in Cincy. Dexter Fowler, Jason Heyward and Ben Zobrist drove in a run apiece for the Cubs. John Lackey took the loss for the North Siders.
The St. Louis Cardinals beat the San Diego Padres 11-2. Jed Gyorko, a Padre last season, hit a three run homer for the Cards. Jeremy Hazelbaker also smacked a three-run shot for St. Louis. Michael Wacha notched the win for St. Louis and is 2-0 on the season.
