The Broncos have sent practice squad safety Ryan Murphy home after he and his brother were questioned as part of a prostitution sting. Murphy was not charged and released after deputies determined he wasn’t involved in the sting.
Colts owner Jim Irsay said Tuesday that there is a “good chance” that the franchise will extend quarterback Andrew Luck this offseason. Illinois has a road date tonight at Rutgers. The Fighting Illini have lost back-to-back home games to Ohio State and Wisconsin to slip to 10-and-12 on the season and 2-and-7 in the Big Ten. The Scarlet Knights have dropped nine straight games to fall to 6-and-16 and 0-and-9.
It’s National Signing Day in college football. Top high school seniors from around the country will sign National Letters of Intent with the schools they intend to play for. Notre Dame’s incoming class is ranked eighth according to Scout.com, which also lists Northwestern’s 39th. Illinois is ranked 58th. Rivals ranks Illinois class at 61st overall.
Lady Gaga will sing the National Anthem at this weekend’s Super Bowl 50. Lady Gaga joins a star-studded list of music performers surrounding the big game’s festivities. Coldplay along with Beyonce are among the artists set to perform during the halftime show.
