Millikin mens basketball beat Greenville College 115-113. The Big Blue stand at 2-2 on the young season. The Millikin ladies played ahead of the mens game and fell to Greenville College 77-62. Alex Capeles led the ladies with 20 points. TJ Sims led the men with 43 points.
The Fighting Illini football and basketball teams both suffered losses Saturday night. Illinois football fell 32-23 to Minnesota on the road. Illini basketball lost 81-77 to Chattanooga at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield.
The Chicago Bulls continue their west coast trip Tuesday night in Portland against the Trailblazers.
The Rams are getting set to head to Baltimore to battle the Ravens Sunday. Defensive end Chris Long expects to return after missing more than a month with a fractured bone in his knee. Chicago has a chance to pull to .500 after back-to-back wins against the Chargers and Rams moved them to 4-and-5. The Broncos are 7-and-2.
The Colts continue preparation for Sunday’s Noon tilt with the Falcons in Atlanta. 40-year-old Matt Hasselbeck will start his third game of the year for the Colts, who are 2-and-0 with Hasselbeck under center this year. The Colts are 4-and-5, while Atlanta is 6-and-3.
